Why is time management important?
Getting the most out of life

There are many ways to answer why is time management important. Proper time management can change every aspect of your life and make it better. You can reap benefits mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially, by following proven time management theories and techniques. Even the smallest time management changes can make a drastic difference in your life.

Stay Organized

imgTo stay organized and so remain calm and unstressed.

Time management is important if you want to stay organized. When your time is not managed properly your life is a jumbled mess. You do not have enough time to finish the things you need to do, let alone stay organized. Without organization, nothing can be done quickly or well, and everything will take much longer to do.

When your time is managed well, you are able to organize your life and schedule. Everything has its set time and everything goes in its place. Having an organized house can help keep you in a good mood and give you a place to relax, and an organized schedule ensures that you are never late or forget to complete a task.

A small amount of attention to your organization can make a big difference. For instance, something as simple as creating an organized filing system at work or home can cut your work time in half, and help you to provide higher quality work. That is a large benefit for a small amount of change.

Your Personal Life

To avoid damage to our personal life.

It is important because we need to get stuff done!  Often, it is simple to put off family, friends, or a loved one when we need to catch up on work, school, or chores, because we know that they will understand. Just because they understand does not mean that they like it however, and a little time management could help to improve your personal life.

Incorporating simple time management activities into your daily schedule such as delegating tasks or resisting the urge to procrastinate, can free up hours that you can then spend with your family or friends.

Delegating one task a week can free up at least two hours of your time that you can use to create lasting memories with the ones you love. If you were to delegate answering business emails to your secretary or assistant, you could save two hours or more a week. Spending more time with the people you care most about will improve your personal life, and is another reason why time management is so important.

More Work Done

Why is time management important?

You can get more done.

If time is managed properly, you can get a great amount of things accomplished. With a set schedule, you are able to complete the most important tasks first, take care of any needed activities next, and then have free time to pursue the things you like to do.

Since your time is scheduled and not rushed, you are able to take your time and get more work done. When you are not procrastinating, you are able to work steadily on a project and not disappoint your employer by handing in an assignment late.

For example, if your time is not managed and you try to complete a project in an hour, while it might get done, it probably isn’t quality work. If you however, had a time management schedule in place and were able to work on that task an hour a day for a week, the resulting product would be much more appealing. When you produce quality work at your job you gain recognition and praise.

Keeps Your Health

It keeps you healthy and stress free.

While this may sound funny that a simple thing like time may keep you healthy, it's true. When you have free time you can spend it anyway you choose. If you use that time to exercise and keep your body in shape, you can shave years off of your looks and add years to your life.

The same goes for eating healthy. When you have the time to cook healthy meals at home, you are less likely to be drawn in by fast food restaurants and unhealthy snacks when you are on the go. By cooking for yourself and eating in a more healthy way you can lose weight, strengthen your body’s defense, or even fight off diseases. That is a lot of benefit in exchange for 30 minutes of free time used in a beneficial way.

The proper amount of sleep is important to a healthy and productive lifestyle. It is recommended that you receive eight hours of uninterrupted sleep per night. Unfortunately, after time with our loved ones, sleep is the first thing that is cut out of schedule when our time is not properly managed. With an organized life you are free to indulge in your required eight hours of sleep every night if you choose.

Reduces Stress

A lack of time management is often accompanied by  an increase in your level of stress. If you do not have a practical schedule with time allowed for unplanned events, you can quickly become overworked and stressed. When your boss or your family, are constantly hounding you for something you should have finished days ago, you can quickly become depressed and irritable.

By having a well-planned schedule for your time, and making room for spontaneous events or emergencies, you are helping to reduce the stress in your life. For instance, if you schedule your important work for early in the day and your entertainment for later, if something comes up late in the day you can take care of it immediately without disrupting your schedule.

There are many ways that the question why is time management important, can be answered. There are so many benefits to a well-planned and organized lifestyle, that they simply can’t be overlooked. Proper time management will affect every aspect of your life in a positive way. Even a small amount of change can make a huge difference when it comes to time management.
